Well we know who the Superbowl champions are in which case we are lucky since we get to play them twice a season.
Thats what you sharpen your knives to carve up.

Actually we are rooting for millionaires controled by billionaires.
Good game tho...when they play to win.

Let's talk Bears draft, peeps.
The way I see it, this Liuget kid is the real wildcard. If he falls to 29 I don't see any way Angelo and Ruskell pass him up. Even if there are 1st round caliber OL still on the board (which is likely).
OTOH I have also seen mocks projecting Liuget to go well ahead of our pick (15-20). If that happens then we would almost be obligated to go best available OL with our 1st round pick IF value were the sole consideration. By the time you get past Dareus, Fairly and Liuget you're into 2nd round territory at DT. OTOH, with our pick at the bottom of the 2nd round are there going to be any DTs left that can bring the impact we need?
That Nevis kid from LSU is an absolute midget and scares the bejeezus out of me for that very reason but if he slides to the bottom of the 2nd and we've gone OL in the 1st he may be the best of the bunch that's left at DT and at essentially a high 3rd round pick maybe wouldn't be the worst gamble we could take.

This year's J'Marcus Webb, maybe?
David Mims, OT, Virginia Union 6'8 | 348
A massive offensive tackle prospect who possesses a long, good-looking frame. Carries his weight well, isn't fat by any stretch and actually looks a bit thin throughout his upper half. Showcases impressive power at the point of attack in the run game and can absolutely dominate defenders at his level of competition at the point. Is a pretty good bender for his size and is really heavy handed; once he gets his paws on you the battle is over. Now, obviously he gets a bit upright and isn't real technically sound maintaining leverage and using proper hand placement, but the skill set is most definitely there.
Possesses above-average range for his size in pass protection. Showcases good coordination and balance when asked to mirror and again likes to get his hands on defenders and anchor. Doesn't exhibit much of a kick-slide and is really raw and upright with his footwork. But talking with sources the guy doesn't even have an offensive line coach at his school.
Impression: Physically the guy has the size, strength and athleticism to play in the league and is dripping with upside. Is going to take some time, but is an ideal later-round developmental guy who could really catch fire with some time.
What the heck, if he's around with our 5th round pick why not nab him and see what Tice can do? You can never be too big on the OL... I'm tired of seeing our OL get pushed around on short yardage. Get this kid, J'Marcus, and Herman Johnson (6'7 365) coached-up and in a couple of years we've got some huge young kids that can do damage on opposing DLs.

Yeah Mims kinds of sounds like a small-school version of Phil Loadholt, who I really wanted the Bears to get the year he came out.
This also jumped out at me:
But talking with sources the guy doesn't even have an offensive line coach at his school.
Imagine a guy with that size and talent after a couple years with Tice...

So... what if there was no draft, but instead a rookie-pool salary cap that assumed a three year initial contract? Each team can sign rookies to contracts paying no more than, say, 60 million over three years. You could sign 1 guy for 20 mil per year for three years... or 2 for 10... or 20 for 1 million each for 3 years...
